At a distance of 560 kilometers north of Santiago, the warm vegetation of the south begins to melt into the dryness of the desert. Travelling east from the coastal city of La Serena, the Andes loom overhead, and the magical Elqui Valley appears as an oasis, winding itself up through the Andes, surrounded on both sides by towering peaks, with wall to wall vineyards in between. “Elqui”, in the language of the ancient cultures, means “The heritage bestowed by God”.
This spectacular valley was given its Appellation of Origin, reserved and approved by law in 1931. This is the environment and only home of “Pisco”.
